Dear Esteemed Colleagues, Distinguished Guests, and Friends,
It is with great pride and heartfelt enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 18th Asian Pacific Society of Atherosclerosis and Vascular Diseases (APSAVD) Congress 2026, held in conjunction with the 31st Philippine Lipid and Atherosclerosis Society (PLAS) – Philippine Society of Hypertension (PSH) Joint Annual Convention.
This year’s congress is truly momentous, as we mark the 30th anniversary of APSAVD, a milestone that celebrates three decades of unwavering commitment to advancing cardiovascular science and fostering collaboration among experts throughout the Asia Pacific region.
Our theme, “Championing Cardiovascular Disease Treatment and Prevention in the Asia Pacific Region,” embodies the collective mission that unites us all — to confront the growing burden of atherosclerosis and vascular diseases through shared knowledge, innovation, and advocacy. It reminds us that while the challenges are vast, our strength lies in partnership, evidence-based practice, and the continuing pursuit of excellence in patient care.
As the organizing host, the Philippine Lipid and Atherosclerosis Society takes immense pride in welcoming you to Manila, Philippines where science meets culture, and collaboration is matched by our renowned Filipino warmth and hospitality. Together with our partners from the Philippine Society of Hypertension and the APSAVD Council, we have prepared a rich and diverse scientific program designed to spark dialogue, inspire breakthroughs, and strengthen regional ties in the fight against cardiovascular disease.
As we gather to celebrate the achievements of the past 30 years, let us also look forward with renewed passion and purpose — to continue championing cardiovascular health for the generations to come.
Welcome to the APSAVD 2026 Congress. Welcome to the Philippines!
Warm regards,
Deborah Ignacia D. Ona, MD, MBA, FPCP
